Who runs this site
howtopreventhormonalacne.com runs as a standalone site and is responsible for the personal data described here. For any privacy question, write to privacy@howtopreventhormonalacne.com.
What gets recorded
- Visit statistics: which pages you open, the site that sent you, time on the page, how far you scroll, which links and buttons you click, and basic device facts such as screen size, browser language and time zone.
- Cycle planner dates: the planner works them out in your own browser. They are never sent to us or saved.
- Server logs: our hosting provider keeps IP addresses, browser types and requested addresses to keep the site safe and running.
How visit statistics work
Your browser sends visit statistics to an endpoint on this site, /api/arrive. From there they go to an analytics provider (EU), which stores them on servers inside the European Union. Your IP address is passed along so an approximate country and city can be worked out. A random visit code in session storage ties the pages of one visit together; it disappears when you close the tab, so separate visits can't be linked. No cookies are set for statistics. Visitors in the EU are only counted after choosing "Allow".
Links to the skin analysis
The "Start my analysis" buttons route through howtopreventhormonalacne.com/cycle-check before landing on acne.today, a separate paid service. That address tells acne.today which site and which button you came from, plus the planner result if you used it. Anything you share with acne.today (photos, answers, payment) falls under its own privacy policy.
Legal grounds
- Statistics about EU visitors: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time with "Statistics choice" at the bottom of the home page.
- Statistics about other visitors and server logs: our legitimate interest in a safe site that works well.
- Emails you send: needed to answer you.

How long we keep things
Server logs: no more than 90 days. Emails: as long as it takes to help you, and never more than two years.
Who else sees data
Only the analytics provider and our hosting provider, and each only gets what it needs. Data is never sold.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete your data, get a copy of it, limit how it is used, or object to its use. Send your request to privacy@howtopreventhormonalacne.com and expect an answer within four weeks. You may also complain to the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens) or to the regulator where you live.
Updates
When this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it.
